Welcome to CalorieCalc. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address via Supabase Auth to secure your data and enable cross-device syncing.

Health & Profile Data: We collect details such as your age, height, weight, gender, and activity levels. This is used solely to calculate personalized calorie targets and health insights (like BMI).

Usage Data: We store food logs, nutritional metadata from scans, and exercise entries that you voluntarily provide to help you track your progress.

Device Information: We may collect basic device identifiers for crash reporting and push notification delivery via OneSignal.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only to:

  • Provide and maintain the tracking service.
  • Provide personalized nutrition coaching via AI.
  • Deliver important notifications and meal reminders.
  • Improve app stability and fix technical issues.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is securely stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL). We implement industry-standard encryption for data both in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest to ensure your personal metrics remain private.

4. Data Sharing

We do NOT sell your health data. We only share data with essential service providers required for the app to function:

  • Supabase: Infrastructure and secure authentication.
  • OneSignal: Secure delivery of push notifications.
  • Google Gemini AI: Advanced nutritional analysis (data is anonymized where possible).
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as your account is active. You can request data export or deletion at any time.

6. Data Deletion

You maintain full control over your data. You can delete your account and all associated records permanently at any time. This option is available in your Profile → Delete Account & Data. Upon confirmation, all your data is immediately wiped from our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

CalorieCalc is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent for data processing.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via in-app notification or email.
