Welcome to CalorieCalc. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application.
Account Information: When you sign up, we collect your email address via Supabase Auth to secure your data and enable cross-device syncing.
Health & Profile Data: We collect details such as your age, height, weight, gender, and activity levels. This is used solely to calculate personalized calorie targets and health insights (like BMI).
Usage Data: We store food logs, nutritional metadata from scans, and exercise entries that you voluntarily provide to help you track your progress.
Device Information: We may collect basic device identifiers for crash reporting and push notification delivery via OneSignal.
We use the collected information only to:
If you choose to sync your data through Health Connect, we access and collect the following specific data types from your device: Steps, Distance, Exercises/Workouts, Total Calories Burned, Active Energy Burned, Weight, Body Fat Percentage, and Nutrition.
Use of Health Data: We exclusively use this Health Connect data to track your daily physical progress, calculate your daily personalized calorie goals, and visualize your fitness history inside the CalorieCalc app.
Limited Use Guarantee: We do not use Health Connect data for advertising, marketing, or any other commercial purposes, nor do we sell or share this data with third parties or data brokers. Our use of information received from Health Connect will strictly adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your data is securely stored using Supabase (PostgreSQL). We implement industry-standard encryption for data both in transit (SSL/TLS) and at rest to ensure your personal metrics remain private.
We do NOT sell your health data. We only share data with essential service providers required for the app to function:
We retain your user data (including health and usage data) for as long as your account remains active. This is strictly required to provide you with the application's core functionality, such as viewing your past meal logs or tracking your weight progress over time. Local on-device data is retained until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
You maintain full control over your data. You can elect to delete your account and data at any time. We provide an automated in-app deletion option located at Profile → Settings → Delete Account & Data. When initiated, your account and all associated health, nutrition, and personal data are permanently and irretrievably deleted from our servers immediately.
Alternatively, you may request data deletion without using the app via our Account Deletion Page or by emailing support@caloriecalcapp.com. Web-based requests will be securely verified prior to permanent deletion.
CalorieCalc is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected data from a child, we will delete it immediately.
